Logline

When her father's enchanted maps begin disappearing one by one, a twelve-year-old girl must journey into the unmapped territories between the edges of the known world to retrieve them before geography itself unravels.

Synopsis

MIRA's father, the Royal Cartographer, has spent his life charting every corner of the kingdom — except for the three territories that exist between other territories, in the gaps where the edges of maps don't quite meet. When a thief begins stealing his finished maps, those gaps begin expanding, swallowing roads, rivers, and towns. Mira steals her father's last unfinished map and enters the first gap, discovering it is inhabited — by people and creatures who have always lived in the space the kingdom chose not to see. THE CARTOGRAPHER'S DAUGHTER is an animated adventure film about the violence of deciding what gets drawn and what gets left out, told at the scale of one girl with a compass and a head for geometry.
