A hand-drawn animated short about a grieving lighthouse keeper who begins receiving letters from an island that doesn't appear on any chart.
EZRA has kept the light on Sorrow Point for twenty years. His wife died three years ago. He has stopped maintaining the logbook. When a letter arrives in a bottle addressed in her handwriting, he charts the bearing it came from and discovers an island — seven miles offshore, six hours by rowboat — that is not on the admiralty chart or any map he has ever seen. ARCHIPELAGO is a 14-minute hand-drawn animated short about grief, the geography of the mind, and the choice to return from wherever you have gone. The film will be drawn entirely by one animator (the director) over 11 months. The campaign covers the animator's living costs and the post-production pipeline.
