When a pirate radio station begins broadcasting from a frequency that shouldn't exist, the college students who track it down find a signal that has been transmitting — uninterrupted — since 1987, the night an entire town vanished.
Set in rural Vermont, 2024. Five broadcast journalism students chasing a senior thesis stumble onto a loop of voices — conversations, arguments, a child singing — that analysis confirms were recorded decades ago but are somehow live. Their investigation leads them to the abandoned town of Harrow Falls, which officially never existed, and to a local historian who has spent thirty years being ignored. What the signal is broadcasting is not the past. It is a warning, on repeat, from people who learned too late what the students are about to discover. DEAD CHANNELS is a slow-build analog horror film interested in the terror of the recorded voice — the way sound persists when bodies don't — and in the specific dread of institutions that decide what is real.
