A man has the opportunity to spend twenty-four hours with his wife... two days after he's died.

Synopsis

Leo exemplifies the fun-loving spirit in all of us. When he suddenly dies in his sleep one morning, his wife Harriet is caught off guard. Remaining at the cemetery after the funeral, Harriet meets Mazelda, a practitioner of Voodoo and Kabbalah. She instructs Harriet to meet her back at the cemetery at midnight. A little wary of what to expect, Harriet shows up and Mazelda is able to resurrect Leo for twenty-four hours. Leo emerges from his grave wearing just his burial shroud. Though he can't speak, (because he no longer breathes), he can hear, understand and move under his own power. Harriet thanks Mazelda and Leo and Harriet walk back to their house. At a local diner, a couple of neighborhood thugs comb the newspapers looking for recently widowed targets to rob. They come across Leo's obituary and break into his house. Leo manages to thwart the robbery and the thugs are picked up by a patrolling police cruiser. The next day, while Harriet is out for a few minutes picking up ingredients for something she'd promised to make for Leo, he decides to take a walk. Not being able to speak and not having any identification on him, he gets picked up for vagrancy by the police. Harriet makes it down to the police station to claim Leo. Soon after they return, mourners arrive at the house. Leo hides upstairs to avoid panicking the guests, with a few close calls. During his brief stay, Leo manages to save a child from getting hit by a car, protects his home a second time and pay back the police for picking him up for vagrancy. In addition to their condolences, some of the arriving visitors offer more information about Leo's past than neither he nor Harriet was aware of. When his visit is over, after a final goodbye, Leo and Harriet have attained closure and they have learned that love, like the soul, doesn’t die. Oh, my Leo! is a sweet, warm, feel-good comedy.
