I founded Jungle Book Studio over twenty years ago with a simple belief: a story doesn't need a big budget or a famous name to travel far. It needs to be honest, told well, and find the right audience. Over the years, my work has taken me across production, international sales and distribution. I've come to enjoy the journey of a film after it's made, finding the right people and places to help it reach audiences beyond its home. Angh is the latest film I'm working on. Theja Rio's debut feature is set in 1963 Nagaland and comes from a culture and a part of the country that has rarely been seen on screen. The film is currently the only Indian title in TIFF's Platform Competition. What excites me about Angh is that it is deeply rooted in its own world, yet has found a way to connect with audiences far beyond it. Then there was Stolen, which premiered at Venice, travelled to more than 40 festivals and is now streaming globally on Prime Video. Earlier, Faith Connections sold into more than 20 territories, while Angry Indian Goddesses, directed by Pan Nalin, travelled to 77 countries. Beyond the Known World, also directed by Pan Nalin, made history as the first official Indo-New Zealand film co-production. Over the years, I've also worked across very different genres, formats and markets, from Ice Road Truckers to The Amazing Race. At Jungle Book Studio, we work across production, distribution and world sales, helping stories from India and around the world find global audiences. For me, the work has always been about believing in people and their stories, and staying invested in helping them find their audience.
